Connect and use Facebook Messenger
Authorize Facebook Pages and manage private Messenger conversations.
Prerequisites
Have access to the intended Facebook Pages and business portfolio. Connection management requires messenger:integration.write and an enabled channel. Inbox read, write, handover, and resolve permissions are separate.
Connect and test
- Open Config → Messenger and start the Facebook connection.
- Sign in with the account that manages the Pages and grant the permissions requested in authorization.
- On return, select the business portfolio and Pages shown by AI Node. Confirm the selection; resolve any Page ownership conflicts displayed before proceeding.
- Check the connected Page status. Do not assume a Page was connected merely because Facebook login succeeded.
- Send the Page a private message from a separate customer account. Open Messenger inbox, choose the Page and conversation, and inspect the message.
- Use handover if AI is handling the thread. Reply while the messaging-window notice permits agent replies.
Capabilities
The private thread supports text, selected media URLs, replies, and reactions offered by its controls. Resolve a human-handled conversation when complete. The channel guide does not imply support for public Page posts or comments, or WhatsApp templates.
Recovery
For login/token failures, restart authorization. For Page conflicts, inspect the ownership notice rather than connecting another business's Page. For a disabled composer, check permissions, AI handler, read-only state, and messaging-window reason. Disconnect a Page from the account panel only after reviewing its confirmation.
Expected result
Both incoming and outgoing test messages appear for the correct Page. Read Meta's Messenger policy overview and connection troubleshooting before launch.
