Configure the website widget

Set domains, branding, behavior, and language before publishing your chat widget.

Prerequisites

You need widget configuration permission, an enabled widget feature, and access to add the generated embed code to your website. Use a staging domain for the first test.

Configure

  1. Open Config → Web Widget. Work through the configuration tabs.
  2. Set branding, launcher, minimized appearance, welcome banner, and footer using the controls provided.
  3. Configure languages and behavior. Check the live preview at desktop and mobile sizes.
  4. Add the website domains through domain management. Include the actual hostname used for testing rather than assuming another subdomain is allowed.
  5. Review the configuration, publish using the available action, and open deployment settings to copy the generated embed code.

First conversation

Follow install and publish. Open the deployed website as a visitor, send a message, and find it in Website Widget inbox. Reply and verify that the same browser session receives the response.

Recovery

For a missing launcher, check publication, the copied embed code, allowed domains, and browser errors. If preview works but the website fails, compare the deployed site's hostname and configuration with the preview. Use the shareable-link action when you need the generated chat URL, and test that URL separately. A shareable link or preview is not a substitute for testing the installed site.

Expected result

Visitors on an allowed domain see the intended widget and can exchange messages. Review branding and both languages after publishing changes.
