Automate an order or booking confirmation

Connect a source event to an approved WhatsApp template and inspect the resulting run.

Prerequisites

Connect WhatsApp, create an approved Meta template, and configure an inbound webhook for the source system. Have workflow permission and a test recipient who can receive the notification.

Configure and test

  1. Create a workflow with Webhook Event and select the intended webhook and event name.
  2. Send a sanitized event from the source using its confirmed authentication contract. Inspect the captured payload in the builder.
  3. Add conditions that identify the intended confirmation event. Use the source's real status fields rather than assuming every event is final.
  4. Add Send Template Message. Select the approved template and language.
  5. Map the recipient and template values from the captured payload. For example, map the source customer name, order reference, and appointment time to the matching template fields; verify the actual field paths.
  6. Save and test with controlled data. Inspect run status and the actual message received. Check variable order, time zone, language, and recipient.
  7. Test a nonmatching event and missing required data. Confirm it does not produce an incorrect notification.
  8. Activate and monitor initial runs. Ensure a legacy rule or source retry is not also sending the same confirmation.

Expected result and troubleshooting

The intended customer receives the correct approved message for the matching event. If not, check the selected webhook/event, active state, conditions, approval, recipient mapping, and failing step. Inspect previous effects before replaying.
