Create and manage WhatsApp templates in AI Node
Compose, submit, sync, edit, and inspect Meta templates directly in your workspace.
Prerequisites
Connect the intended WhatsApp Business Account and use a role authorized to manage templates. Meta approval is required before sending. The in-app composer creates Utility and Marketing templates. Authentication may appear in lists and category filters, but authentication-template submission is not supported by the current builder.
Create and submit
- Open Automation → Meta Templates and choose Create Template.
- Enter a template name, supported category, and language. Select the language your recipients will receive; a different language is a different template variant.
- Compose the body and add supported header, footer, and buttons. Select positional or named variables as offered by the composer.
- Supply a realistic example for each variable. For media headers, upload the requested sample through the composer. Do not use real customer secrets as samples.
- Review the mobile preview, button destinations, language, category, and sample values.
- Submit from AI Node to Meta for review. Creation does not guarantee approval or a particular approval time.
- Return to the list and use Refresh status. Inspect status and rejection reason before attempting to send.
Maintain templates
Use Edit for templates that the app and Meta permit editing. The edit flow is different from submitting a new template; check status again after changes. Use Sync Templates to import templates already on the connected WhatsApp account. You do not need to manually recreate those records from Meta Business Manager.
Read the confirmation before Delete, including any template-name reuse restriction shown. If a name is rejected as already used, inspect the actual error and choose an allowed name rather than repeatedly submitting it.
Send an approved template
In a WhatsApp conversation, choose the Meta template selector and the approved template/language. Fill required variables and media, preview, then send. In a workflow use Send Template Message, map recipient and variables, and test with controlled data before activation.
Troubleshooting
If a template is missing, check the connected account, language, approval status, and sync. For rejection, correct the stated issue and follow the permitted edit/submission flow. Quick replies are reusable text, not Meta-approved templates. See the window guide and Meta template documentation.
