AI Tools and agent capabilities
Understand built-in capabilities, custom tools, and their integration dependencies.
Choose the right control
Open Integrations → AI Tools. Built-in agent capabilities and custom endpoint tools are separate. Customer-service capability provides knowledge/history functions; locked system capability controls are not editable like custom tools. Booking capability requires a connected scheduling provider.
Enable a capability
- Inspect the capability card and its listed functions.
- Complete any requires setup instruction, such as connecting Google Calendar or Calendly.
- Enable the capability where the switch is editable.
- Test a conversation that needs that function and verify the outcome in the owning system.
Custom tools
A custom tool describes an operation and its parameters and calls a configured endpoint. Categories include booking, inventory, payment, and custom; choosing a category does not install a payment provider or grant permission to a remote system.
- Choose Add Tool, provide a clear machine name, display name, description, and category.
- Configure parameters and endpoint details using custom tool setup.
- Link the relevant integration where needed, test reachability, then enable the tool.
- Run a controlled end-to-end test before relying on it with customers.
Expected result and troubleshooting
The agent has only the intended enabled capabilities. If a capability requires setup, fix its provider connection first. A tool test reports reachability, status, and timing; it does not prove the agent supplies correct business values or that an external operation completed.
Create, test, and troubleshoot a custom tool
Define useful parameters, endpoint access, dependencies, and safe test inputs.
Connect your calendar and enable booking
Verify availability, confirmed bookings, rescheduling, cancellation, and time zones.
Integrations and connectors
Connect scheduling providers, external catalogs, and custom systems.
