Choose an automation approach
Understand workflows, message templates, quick replies, webhooks, and legacy rules.
Choose the right feature
| Feature | Use it for | Open |
|---|---|---|
| Meta templates | Approved WhatsApp message content | Templates |
| Quick replies | Reusable text selected by a teammate | Quick replies |
| Workflows | Triggered sequences of configured actions | Workflows |
| Workflow templates | Starting a workflow from a reusable recipe | Workflow templates |
| Webhooks | Receiving external events or delivering events outward | Webhooks |
| Legacy automations | Maintaining existing rule-based automations | Legacy rules |
Start safely
- Choose a concrete outcome, such as a booking confirmation.
- Prepare its channel connection and approved template or other action dependency.
- Build with controlled customer data, then run a test and inspect its execution.
- Activate only after checking recipient mapping, variables, and the external result.
Expected result
You know which feature owns the content, which receives the event, and which executes the action. A saved template is not an active workflow. Avoid enabling a legacy rule and a workflow for the same event unless duplicate sends are intentional.
